In his large-scale, kinetic installations the Berlin-based artist Nils Völker transforms everyday materials and objects into volumetric structures. Through the multiplication of industrial products such as plastic films, plastic bags or technical toys he creates expressive, lively pieces of art. Völker uses the qualities of ordinary things and reshapes them due to serial arrangement and fixed patterns of movement. He models the light- and fragile-looking surfaces of his artworks with the help of electronics and programming: immaterial forms turn into organic- and wave-like motion. The dynamic structures of the artworks appeal to several of the viewer's senses and enable him to immerse himself contemplatively.
en série is Nils Völker's first monographic exhibition in France, for which the artist has created two completely new pieces of art. The multi-faceted exhibition parcours leads the visitor from the White Cube into the Black Box, from breathing cushions to floating toys.
