Like a moving painting the monochrome mixed media installation "One Hundred and Forty Four" fits precisely into one of the window niches of the light and linear architecture of the MAK Frankfurt from the 20th century.
The 9 x 4 meters large artwork follows a site-specific choreography determined by a program and 576 fans. Its soft and reflecting surface is made from 144 white garbage bags whose shapes are constantly changing by being inflated and deflated. The architecture of the exhibition space allows the spectator to face the wavelike and organic movement of the kinetic installation from many different points of view.
Through the combination of an every day material with precise technology "One Hundred and Forty Four" fills not only the window niche with its fluid movement but also the whole entrance hall with its peculiar sound.
