Like a moving painting the monochrome mixed media installation "Two Hundred and Sixteen" fits precisely into the rotunda of the 19th century buildung of the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe.
The 10 x 4 x 6 meters large artwork follows a site-specific choreography determined by a program and 864 fans. Its soft and reflecting surface is made from 216 white garbage bags whose shapes are constantly changing by being inflated and deflated. The architecture of the exhibition space allows the spectator to face the wavelike and organic movement of the kinetic installation from many different points of view.
Through the combination of an every day material with precise technology "Two Hundred and Sixteen" fills not only the round wall with its fluid movement but also the whole entrance hall with its peculiar sound.
